![]() The same lease term we sent that letter, they informed us they weren’t going to be renewing the lease, forcing us to finally commit to buying a house. The landlord kept coming, but started parking his RV at his business and camping out there for entire weekends. They never responded, but the unannounced entries stopped. We finally sent them a letter, with a legal header, asking if they could explain why they were allowing these people to enter the house unannounced. He just showed up one day the first year we lived there. None of this was mentioned by the property manager, the landlord, or the lease. All of his employees ALSO had keys to the house and would come in unannounced. He would use this opportunity to use HIS KEY to just walk into the house and do an inspection. The landlord would drive from his state on vacation, but use the property to camp at. They would allow “no notice inspections” where the landlord OR HIS EMPLOYEES would just be allowed to come into the house. It wasn’t.Įdit 2: more stuff because I feel like venting. They said he claimed to have split it off so it’s a different account. We’ve asked for it to be fixed for years, but they cancel the maintenance requests because the “landlord handles maintenance”Įdit: forgot to add this, they allowed the landlord to charge us for the electric bill of HIS BUSINESS he still ran in another building on the property. They also let the landlord handle all maintenance, we had a broken stairway that was broken well before we moved in. Absolutely absurd and exploitative practices. Meaning we had to pay them $140 to send us one air filter in the mail. Then they started a “filter delivery service” for $35 dollars a month where we would get one air filter delivered once every 4 months. And an additional monthly subscription fee to the portal per pet. Then they mandated a “pet portal” where you had to pay an ADDITIONAL fee to register each pet, PER PET. They charged a late fee to submit this lump payment. When we called them, they denied it had changed despite paying just fine for years until that point. When we asked how our autopay changed specifically this year, they just didn’t respond. Then 3 years in, they went in and manually adjusted our autopay amount and made it so everything EXCEPT 100 dollars a month was paying, so at the end of the year they contacted us to let us know we didn’t pay the full amount all year. First they tried to charge pet deposits annually along with pet rent monthly and an initial pet deposit. (We struggled to make enough to purchase a house specifically because how bad reddoor is) They’ve found every opportunity to extort money out of tenants for themselves. My wife and I had been renting through them for 5 years up until we bought a house. Im in too deep now but at the very least I can warn anyone away if they're looking to rent.ĭon’t rent from reddoor rentals either. The phones for leasing and maintenance are both answering services. This company has no direct contact other than a customer service email. I've also had a downed tree for over a month, but I care about that a lot less. ![]() I'm going on my third day with no access to a shower, and all my work orders keep getting deleted somehow. There is already water damage in the walls now. And worst of all if I turn on the water it floods the laundry room behind it. The shower can't turn hot, as the handle only goes halfway. I don't know who this guy was but he had no idea what he was doing and he destroyed the bathroom. They sent some guy to fix it he was in my house for 4 hours replacing all the hardware. I called in a minor maintenance issue the tub faucet leaked when the water was turned off. I've been living in one of their properties for a few months.
